Tasha Alexander: And Only to Decieve

Sigh. And again. Sigh.

First off, I will say that from page one, I was thinking how similar it is to Lady Julia Grey...however, after a while, I quit making comparisons.

Lady Emily Ashton became a widow after only being a bride for six months. She wasn't overly distraught, as she didn't know Phillip, her husband, very well. She thought that he was the same as every peer, and only interested in hunting. Imagine her surprise in learning that he was quite different than she thought. Beginning in his library, then branching out to the British Museum, she begins to study Greek antiquities. Her late husband had a fondness for them that she is only just beginning to appreciate.

However, through various journal entries, and meeting new people, she begins to have suspicsions that the husband that she hadn't known, and was only just beginning to know and love through journal entries, may not have been all that he seemed to be.

This is a great story. You have mystery, romance, intrigue, history...and Colin Hargreaves. :D

(I DO agree with Angie, that he is no Brisbane, however...I quite like him!)

I can't wait to read the next book!
